K I C Metaliks Limited manufactures and sells pig iron, granulated blast furnace slag, pig iron scrap including pig casting machine scrap, pig iron runner, pig iron skull and pig iron chips, and allied iron and steel products primarily in India with some international reach. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, the company operates a mini blast furnace, sinter plant, captive power plant, and other facilities at its factory in Durgapur with pig iron production capacity of 235,000 metric tons per annum; it serves mini steel plants, downstream iron and steel manufacturers, and cement plants as a leading supplier in eastern India and a subsidiary of Karni Syntex Pvt Ltd. The company produces Portland slag cement using slag byproduct from its pig iron operations; it previously manufactured grey cast iron castings for export and cement but focuses on pig iron and byproducts today. Recent operational changes include resumption of mini blast furnace operations at the Durgapur plant on April 20, 2025 following a shutdown from February 6, 2025 for blast furnace rectification and upgrades, alongside promoter Karni Syntex Pvt Ltd acquiring additional equity shares in 2025 to increase its holding to approximately 66.26 percent as of September 2025.
