Founded in 2005 and originally incorporated in Kolkata, West Bengal, as a private limited company, Sanathan Textiles transitioned to public status with an initial public offering in December 2024 that raised approximately Rs 400-500 crore for debt repayment, investment in subsidiary Sanathan Polycot Private Limited, and general corporate purposes. Headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with key operations in Dadra & Nagar Haveli and an upcoming facility in Punjab, the company targets diverse end-users in apparel, industrial, and technical textile sectors across domestic and export markets.
Recent strategic developments include the acquisition of Universal Texturisers Private Limited in 2021 for value chain integration and a Rs 1,850-2,321 crore greenfield expansion in Wazirabad, Punjab, through subsidiary Sanathan Polycot Private Limited, set to more than double polyester filament yarn capacity from 550 tonnes per day (200,000 MTPA) to 1,500 tonnes per day (up to 547,000 MTPA) in two phases, with commercial operations commencing in Q1 FY2026 to address North India supply gaps, reduce logistics costs, and enhance margins. The company plans further capex of Rs 200 crore in FY2026 for polyester and Rs 418 crore in FY2027 for cotton yarn via term loans and internal accruals, alongside technical textiles expansion from 9,000 to 17,000 tonnes, positioning it for Rs 6,000 crore revenue by FY2027.
