Storage Technologies & Automation Limited, operating under the brand name Racks & Rollers, is an India-based engineering and manufacturing company specializing in the design, fabrication, supply, installation, and commissioning of storage racking systems, automated warehousing solutions, and material handling equipment. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the company serves commercial and industrial enterprises across sectors such as third-party logistics (3PL), e-commerce, retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceuticals, automotive, cold chain, food and beverage, and heavy engineering across India, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa. The company operates across three primary business divisions: Industrial Storage Solutions, Automated Warehousing Technologies, and Warehouse Engineering and Lifecycle Services. Its comprehensive portfolio of products and services includes Pallet Racking Systems, comprising selective pallet racking, double deep racking, drive-in and drive-through racking, cantilever racking, mobile pallet racking, pallet flow racking, and very narrow aisle (VNA) racking; Shelving and Small Parts Storage, including long span shelving, multi-tier shelving, slotted angle racks, modular binning systems, and carton live storage; Warehouse Mezzanine Structures, featuring rack-supported mezzanines, heavy-duty structural steel mezzanines, and multi-tier mezzanine floors; Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), encompassing unit-load ASRS, mini-load ASRS, radio shuttle and multi-deep pallet shuttle systems, vertical lift modules (VLMs), and autonomous mobile robot (AMR) and automated guided vehicle (AGV) system integrations; Material Handling and Conveyor Solutions, including powered roller conveyors, belt conveyors, automated sorting systems, and spiral gravity chutes; Warehouse Software Solutions, offering warehouse management system (WMS) and warehouse control system (WCS) integrations for automated material tracking and operational execution; and Turnkey Engineering Services, providing structural engineering analysis, seismic compliance design, computer-aided space layout planning, bespoke steel fabrication, on-site erection, commissioning, safety load auditing, and lifecycle maintenance support. In recent developments, Storage Technologies & Automation completed its initial public offering (IPO) and listed its equity shares on the BSE SME platform under the ticker symbol STAL in May 2024 to fund working capital requirements and drive business expansion. The company has expanded its manufacturing capabilities by adding specialized automated roll-forming and high-throughput powder-coating infrastructure at its Bengaluru manufacturing facilities to meet heightened demand for high-bay warehousing infrastructure. Additionally, the company has expanded its high-tech product portfolio by launching smart high-density automated shuttle systems, IoT-integrated warehouse control software, and autonomous mobile robot integration solutions tailored for rapid-fulfillment distribution hubs and temperature-controlled cold-chain facilities. Over the past two years, Storage Technologies & Automation has also strengthened its market presence by securing multi-tier automated racking projects across India and broadening its export footprint through strategic partnerships with regional logistics integrators in the Middle East and African markets.
