Business
BT Group plc provides fixed and mobile telecommunications services, broadband internet, digital television, IT and network solutions, cyber security, and related connectivity products in the United Kingdom and internationally. The company operates through four customer-facing units: Consumer, serving individuals and households with broadband, mobile, TV, gaming, insurance, and handsets under brands including BT, EE, Plusnet, and TNT Sports; Business, offering connectivity, networking, cyber security, collaboration tools, cloud services, fixed and IP voice, unified communications, and managed services to small, medium, and large corporates as well as public sector and government customers in the UK; International, providing services to multinational organizations and overseas public sector clients; and Openreach, wholesaling fixed access network infrastructure including full fibre broadband to over 700 communications providers. BT Group builds, owns, and operates the UK's largest fixed and mobile networks, generating £20.4 billion in revenue for the year ended March 2025 while serving more than 30 million customers. Founded in 1846 with origins in the Electric Telegraph Company and headquartered at 1 Braham Street, London, the company reorganized in 2025 by separating its International unit from Business to focus on UK operations and recently completed a strategic investment from Bharti Global, which acquired a 24.5% stake in November 2024 to support collaborations in AI, 5G research, and engineering; it also announced a landmark partnership with Starlink to enhance broadband in remote areas, achieved record full fibre (FTTP) rollout to over 20 million premises with 1.1 million net adds in the half-year to September 2025, expanded EE's 5G+ coverage to 66% of the UK population, and advanced its £3 billion cost transformation program with £1.2 billion in cumulative savings realized in the first 18 months.
