BorgWarner Inc. (NYSE: BWA) designs, manufactures and sells advanced powertrain technologies and engineered components for combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles worldwide; core products and services encompass air management systems including turbochargers, eBoosters, exhaust gas recirculation modules and thermal management components; drivetrain and battery systems such as torque-on-demand transfer cases, cross-wheel drive systems, electronic limited-slip differentials, electric motors, high-voltage inverters, onboard chargers, DC/DC converters, power electronics and fully integrated drive modules; electrification solutions featuring eMotors, generators, battery management systems and propulsion controllers; as well as chain systems, friction clutches, control modules and variable cam timing products supplied primarily to OEMs of passenger cars, light trucks, commercial vehicles, off-highway equipment and marine applications. The company, founded in 1928 and headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan, operates approximately 92 manufacturing facilities across 24 countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia, employing around 39,900 people and generating 2024 revenues exceeding $14 billion with significant contributions from EV and emissions-reducing hybrid products. Recent developments include expanded partnerships such as multiple contracts with Chery Automobile for advanced AWD technologies including torque-on-demand transfer cases and Gen VI Cross Wheel Drive systems with mass production starting in 2027; additional dual-inverter projects and e-motor supply orders with Great Wall Motor and other Chinese OEMs commencing in 2026; new electric-motor stator and inverter awards from East Asian manufacturers; transfer case extensions with a major North American OEM for hybrid trucks; a battery system contract for the Holon Urban autonomous shuttle by end-2025; and wins for high-voltage coolant heaters, S-wind eMotor technology and EGR components across various hybrid and electric platforms, alongside recognition including the 2025 Ford Supplier of the Year for crisis management and listings among the World's Most Sustainable Companies.
