Business
S.A. San Miguel A.G.I.C.I. y F. is an Argentina-based agribusiness enterprise primarily engaged in the agricultural cultivation, industrial processing, and international commercialization of citrus fruits and value-added natural ingredients. The company operates as a leading global processor of lemons, serving business-to-business (B2B) clients across the food, beverage, flavor, fragrance, and pharmaceutical sectors. Its comprehensive product portfolio includes industrial citrus juices, such as frozen concentrated lemon juice (FCLJ), clarified lemon juice, cloudy juice, and certified organic lemon juice concentrates; citrus essential oils, including cold-pressed lemon peel oil, distilled lemon oils, concentrated citrus terpenes, and fractionated aromatic essences; dehydrated lemon peel, utilized as a key raw material for industrial pectin extraction and animal nutrition; and citrus pulp cells, clouding agents, and customized natural flavor compounds. Founded in 1954, the company is headquartered in Victoria, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, and operates extensive agricultural groves and industrial processing plants in the province of Tucumán, exporting the majority of its production to international markets across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In recent developments, S.A. San Miguel A.G.I.C.I. y F. completed a major strategic transformation to reposition itself exclusively as an industrial citrus ingredients producer. As part of this business shift, the company divested its fresh fruit operations and production assets in South Africa and Peru to the multinational citrus group Citri&Co, while establishing an exclusive long-term strategic alliance to supply and process industrial citrus from Citri&Co's fresh packing operations. Operationally, the company has consolidated its processing activities at its primary industrial complex in Famaillá, Tucumán, expanding its capacity for organic-certified processing lines, circular economy initiatives, and green energy transition projects. To support its strategic focus and manage its capital structure, the company has completed multiple corporate debt refinancing transactions and issuances of dollar-linked and sustainability-oriented negotiable obligations (Obligaciones Negociables) in the Argentine capital markets, funding ongoing working capital needs and technological upgrades in its processing infrastructure.
