Business
TIM S.A. operates as a leading telecommunications provider in Brazil, offering mobile voice and data services, fixed-line telephony including local, national and international long-distance switched services, broadband internet via TIM Ultrafibra and TIM Live, personal mobile multimedia communication, digital content delivery, and corporate solutions such as data transmission, MPLS, cloud services, and managed IT infrastructure; it serves individual consumers, small and medium enterprises, and large corporates across residential, prepaid (TIM Pré), postpaid (TIM Black, TIM Controle, TIM Beta), fiber optic broadband, and B2B segments. The company maintains nationwide operations with 4G coverage in 100% of Brazilian municipalities including rural areas, 5G in all state capitals, over 60 million mobile customers, approximately 180,000 kilometers of fiber optics, and around 30,000 sites, targeting urban and rural markets throughout Brazil. Founded in 1998 through the spin-off of Telebrás and headquartered at Avenida das Américas 8500, North Tower, 12th Floor, Rio de Janeiro, TIM S.A. functions as a subsidiary of TIM Brasil Serviços e Participações S.A., which is ultimately controlled by Telecom Italia S.p.A. In a key recent development, TIM S.A. secures board approval in November 2025 to acquire 100% of V8 Consulting S.A. (V8.Tech), a technology integrator specializing in digital transformation, multicloud, hybrid cloud, and artificial intelligence solutions, for an upfront R$140 million plus up to R$140 million in earn-outs over six years pending CADE antitrust approval; this bolsters its B2B portfolio for end-to-end projects serving over 100 corporate clients and aligns with the 2025-2027 strategic plan. Concurrently, the company establishes a new B2B Vice Presidency under Fabio Costa to drive growth in digital and cloud services, complementing prior moves like the completion of Oi mobile assets integration and the sale of a 51% stake in its FiberCo infrastructure unit to IHS Towers, rebranded as I-Systems.
