Business
Salesforce, Inc. provides cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) software and an enterprise platform for managing customer data, sales, service, marketing, commerce, analytics, collaboration and artificial-intelligence-driven workflows. The company offers Sales Cloud for sales-force automation, opportunity and pipeline management, forecasting, account and contact management, revenue intelligence and sales engagement; Service Cloud and Customer Engagement Suite for customer support, contact-center operations, case management, knowledge management, field service, digital engagement and telephony-enabled service; Marketing Cloud for campaign management, customer journeys, email, mobile, advertising, personalization and marketing analytics; Commerce Cloud and Agentforce Commerce for digital storefronts, order management, merchandising, payments, product discovery and conversational commerce; and Experience Cloud for customer, partner and employee portals and digital communities. Salesforce also provides Data Cloud, a customer-data platform that unifies, harmonizes and activates data from Salesforce applications and third-party sources; Tableau analytics and visualization software; MuleSoft integration, application-programming-interface management and automation tools; Heroku application development and deployment services; Slack workplace collaboration, messaging, workflow automation and enterprise search capabilities; and the Salesforce Platform, including low-code development, AppExchange applications, security, identity, governance and industry-specific cloud solutions. Its Agentforce 360 platform enables businesses, developers and independent software vendors to build, deploy, manage and distribute AI agents that use enterprise data, workflows and business logic to perform sales, service, marketing, commerce and operational tasks. Customers include enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, public-sector organizations, nonprofit entities, educational institutions and industry-specific users globally. Salesforce operates principally in the Americas, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, serving customers through direct sales, partners, system integrators, resellers and its online ecosystem. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. Its operations include Salesforce, Slack, Tableau, MuleSoft, Heroku and other subsidiaries and acquired businesses. Recent strategic activity centers on expanding Salesforce’s agentic AI, data-management and business-process automation capabilities. Salesforce completed the acquisition of AI-powered data-management provider Informatica in 2025, followed by the acquisitions of Regrello, a complex-business-process automation provider, Apromore, a process-intelligence software company, and Doti, an agentic enterprise-search company. It has also announced definitive agreements to acquire Qualified, which provides agentic AI marketing solutions, Cimulate, which specializes in AI-powered product discovery and agentic commerce, and Momentum, a conversational-insights and revenue-orchestration platform. In June 2026, Salesforce announced an agreement to acquire autonomous AI-agent platform Fin for approximately $3.6 billion, further strengthening its Agentforce offering. In August 2026, Salesforce expanded its partnership with Anthropic through Claudeforce, combining Anthropic’s Claude models with Salesforce data, workflows, governance and agentic capabilities. The collaboration includes Salesforce in Claude, initially offered to select pilot customers and expected to enter open beta in September 2026, with 37 prebuilt sales skills for functions such as meeting preparation, deal-health assessment, pipeline review and governed pipeline updates. Salesforce also has expanded AI and productivity integrations with Google, including the use of Gemini models with the Agentforce 360 platform, integrations across Google Workspace, and Slack connectivity with Gemini Enterprise.
