Business
Vencanna Ventures Inc. is a Calgary-based cannabis investment and operating company that provides capital, liquidity and expertise to early-stage, jurisdictionally compliant cannabis initiatives throughout the United States and beyond. Founded in 1989 and headquartered at 310, 250 - 6th Avenue South West, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2P 3H7, the company operates as a merchant capital provider and direct participant in the cannabis value chain, including cultivation, processing, distribution, retail and ancillary businesses; it offers a diversified, high-growth investment strategy through strategic investments, grassroots developments and acquisitions focused on state-compliant opportunities with high return potential. Vencanna targets fragmented markets for consolidation, cash flow-positive assets and transformative opportunities in limited U.S. jurisdictions such as Nevada and New Jersey, generating revenue primarily from the United States via its portfolio of over 150 SKUs in high-quality concentrates and pre-roll products. In April 2024, Vencanna closed its acquisition of The Cannavative Group LLC, a Nevada-based cultivation and extraction company established in 2016 that operates from a 7,500 square-foot facility and holds dual licenses as one of the state's pioneers; this transaction marked a strategic shift from a pure merchant capital firm to an operating company with integrated management from both entities. Most recently, in November 2025, the company entered a definitive agreement to divest its 95% interest in Vencanna NJ LLC—a special purpose entity pursuing a Class 5 retail license in Bellmawr, New Jersey—for up to $1.75 million in cash, reimbursements and earnouts, while terminating related obligations with TGC New Jersey LLC in Cinnaminson; proceeds support working capital amid challenging capital markets for cannabis expansion. Vencanna lists on the Canadian Securities Exchange under ticker VENI and OTCQB as TPPRF, led by CEO David McGorman and Executive Chairman Jonathan Sharun.
