Business
JX Advanced Metals Corporation JX Advanced Metals Corporation engages in the development, smelting, refining, recycling, and manufacture of nonferrous metals, with a primary focus on copper and rare metals essential for semiconductors, ICT devices, and advanced technologies. The company operates through three main segments: Semiconductor Materials, which produces sputtering targets holding approximately 60% global market share, compound semiconductors, crystal materials, high-purity metals including silicon, iron, nickel, and copper, tantalum and niobium products via TANIOBIS, and surface treatment agents; Information and Communication Materials, offering copper foils such as super flex RA foils, electro-deposited foils, and high-frequency variants, copper alloys including Corson alloys, titanium copper, phosphor bronze, and nickel silver, precision stamped and plated products, electromagnetic shielding films, and related items from affiliates like Tatsuta Electric Wire and Cable; and Metals & Recycling, handling copper concentrates procurement, refined copper cathodes, sulfuric acid, precious metals, and recycling from end-of-life electronics, alongside resource development activities. JX Advanced Metals Corporation maintains global operations across Japan, with key sites including Saganoseki Smelter & Refinery, Isohara Works, Kurami Works, and Hitachi facilities, as well as international presence through subsidiaries like TANIOBIS in Germany and investments such as the Caserones Copper Mine in Chile and a A$20 million strategic partnership in Australia's RZ Resources Copi Project in June 2025. Founded in 1905 and headquartered at The Okura Prestige Tower in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, the company, partially owned by ENEOS Holdings, changed its name from JX Metals Corporation in May 2024 to emphasize advanced materials leadership. In November 2025, JX Advanced Metals Corporation executed a memorandum of understanding with Mitsui Kinzoku Company, Limited, Marubeni Corporation, and Mitsubishi Materials Corporation to integrate Mitsubishi Materials' copper concentrates purchasing and sales business into Pan Pacific Copper Co., Ltd., aiming to enhance procurement competitiveness, centralize functions, and improve profitability through a new subsidiary by March 2026.
