In October 2025, Airbus, Leonardo and Thales signed a memorandum of understanding to combine space activities into a new European entity operational by 2027, pooling satellite systems, manufacturing and services with Airbus contributing 35% ownership to enhance strategic autonomy and competitiveness. Airbus continues its 2025 share buyback programme, launching the second tranche in November for up to 2.07 million shares to fund employee equity plans.
