Founded in 1992 and headquartered at Avenida Espana 3301 in Buenos Aires, it serves the Argentine electricity market with a focus on reliable thermal generation amid regulatory frameworks for availability commitments and variable production costs. In February 2023, Central Puerto S.A. acquired a 75.7% stake from Enel Americas for $48 million as part of Enel's global decarbonization strategy, enhancing Central Puerto's portfolio to over 7,100 megawatts and representing nearly 6% of Argentina's total installed capacity; the company subsequently rebranded from Central Costanera S.A., with Osvaldo Reca appointed as president to leverage operational synergies.
