Business
Ferchem Misr Co. for Fertilizers & Chemicals (EGX: FERC) manufactures, develops, and distributes phosphate fertilizers, specialty crop nutrients, and industrial inorganic chemicals for agricultural and industrial markets in Egypt and internationally. The company operates through three principal business segments: Phosphate Fertilizers, Specialty Nutrients, and Industrial Chemicals. Its product portfolio comprises single super phosphate fertilizers, including powdered single super phosphate (PSSP 12.5%) and granular single super phosphate (GSSP 12.5%, 15%, and 16%); granular triple super phosphate (TSP 37%); water-soluble and compound NPK fertilizers marketed under the Power Gold brand, including balanced (19-19-19) and high-potassium (6-6-43) formulations; specialty crop nutrients including urea phosphate (0-44-17) and magnesium sulfate heptahydrate; and concentrated industrial chemicals comprising 98% commercial-grade sulfuric acid, oleum (fuming sulfuric acid), and 85% phosphoric acid utilized for soil treatment, pH regulation, irrigation line cleaning, and downstream chemical synthesis. The company serves domestic agricultural distributors, commercial farming enterprises, and international buyers across more than 50 export destinations spanning Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and South America, with substantial export volumes supplied to Brazil. In recent major corporate developments, Ferchem Misr completed a transformative consolidation in 2025 by executing a multi-company merger with Abu Zaabal Fertilizers & Chemicals and Aswan Fertilizers and Chemical Industries Company, unifying the assets under the Ferchem Misr corporate umbrella and establishing an integrated industrial platform with 15 production units across three major manufacturing hubs located in Abu Zaabal (Qalyubia), Sadat City (Menoufia), and Al-Sabaiya East (Aswan). Following this consolidation, the company successfully transitioned its public listing from the Nile Stock Exchange (Nilex) to the Main Market of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) and aligned its expanded operational footprint with affiliated supply and trading channels within the Polyserve Group. Ferchem Misr Co. for Fertilizers & Chemicals was established in 2001, with operational heritage tracing back to 1947 through its merged Abu Zaabal entity, and is headquartered in Sadat City, Menoufia Governorate, Egypt.
