Halfords Group plc Halfords Group plc (HFD.L) operates as the United Kingdom's leading provider of motoring and cycling products and services through its Retail and Autocentres segments. The company retails automotive, leisure, and cycling goods including batteries, car parts, cleaning solutions, seats and accessories, engine oils and fluids, tyres, tools, baby and child car accessories, bulbs, wiper blades, roof bars and boxes, number plates, camping and travel accessories; mainstream and performance cycling products such as bikes, electric and refurbished bikes, bike accessories, parts, racks and helmets, cycling clothing, scooters, second-hand electric scooters, turbo trainers; and provides vehicle servicing, MOT, maintenance, repairs, car warranty, checks and mobile fitting services from garages, mobile vans, and its integrated online platform. It also offers B2B solutions through Commercial Fleet Services for national fleet maintenance, Cycle2Work schemes, and Avayler, a proprietary Software-as-a-Service garage management platform sold to clients in the US, Europe, and Australia. Halfords Group plc maintains approximately 373 retail stores, two Performance Cycling stores trading as Tredz, 542 consumer garages under brands including Halfords Autocentres, McConechy’s, Universal, National Tyres and Lodge Tyre, 280 direct-to-consumer mobile vans branded Halfords Mobile Expert and National, and 504 commercial vans, serving around 20 million customers annually with an average drivetime of under 20 minutes. Founded in 1892 and headquartered in Redditch, Worcestershire, the company primarily targets UK consumers and businesses in the motoring services and cycling markets. Recent developments include the accelerated rollout of the Fusion Motoring Services programme, converting 50 garages by March 2025 with plans for at least 60 more in FY26 to enhance service integration between retail stores and autocentres, targeting higher-margin Service, Maintenance and Repair work and a unified Halfords Garage Services brand; outsourcing of tyre supply chain to Bond International for cost savings and improved availability; new Commercial Fleet Services contracts with clients including Seras, Greenergy and Milk & More; appointment of Henry Birch as Chief Executive Officer in April 2025 alongside new Managing Directors for Retail and Autocentres; and Avayler achieving a key milestone with Bridgestone in the US, progressing to pilot phase despite challenges from client ATD's Chapter 11 process.
