Business
Gens Aurea S.p.A. is an Italy-based vertically integrated precious metals trading, refining, and jewelry retail company. Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Osnago, Italy, the group operates across the precious metals lifecycle, serving retail consumers, private investors, and institutional clients across Europe, with core markets in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, and Austria. The company organizes its operations into four main business segments: Gold and Precious Metals Purchasing, Investment Gold, Jewelry and Watch Retail, and Buy-Back Services. Its comprehensive portfolio of products and services includes: retail purchasing and appraisal of second-hand gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, and luxury watches; investment-grade physical gold products, including certified minted bullion bars, gold coins, and customized precious metal accumulation plans marketed through OroCash Invest and Aurea Invest; proprietary and multi-brand fine jewelry, certified loose diamonds, certified pre-owned and refurbished vintage jewelry, and luxury timepieces distributed via retail boutiques, outlet stores, and e-commerce platforms under brand names such as Luxury Zone, GioiaPura, and the heritage jewelry house Alfieri & St. John; temporary buy-back, collateral, and liquidity services for private individuals; and industrial precious metal assaying, melting, recovery, and refining services. Gens Aurea manages an international retail network of more than 530 company-owned and franchised locations under regional commercial banners, including OroCash in Italy and Switzerland, OroCaja and SuperEfectivo in Spain, and OuroCaixa in Portugal. In recent corporate developments, Gens Aurea completed its initial public offering on Euronext Milan in July 2026 under the ticker symbol OROX at a market valuation of approximately 1 billion euros, transitioning from private equity ownership under Springwater Capital and Mattina Holding SA to a publicly traded corporation. To accelerate its omnichannel transformation and expand its digital marketplace capabilities, the group acquired GioiaPura, a leading Italian online jewelry and watch e-commerce retailer, enabling centralized logistics, expanded direct-to-consumer reach, and joint procurement synergies across European retail networks. Additionally, the group has continued expanding its international physical store footprint and scaling its certified investment gold operations to address growing European retail demand for physical wealth preservation assets.
