Business
Oroco Resource Corp. (TSX-V: OCO) is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on the acquisition, exploration, and development of copper-gold porphyry projects in Mexico; it holds a net 85.5% interest in the 1,173-hectare Core Concessions and an 80% interest in the surrounding 4,948-hectare area of the flagship Santo Tomas Project in Sinaloa State, covering a total of 6,121 hectares in the porphyry copper-rich Santo Tomas District; the company also maintains 100% interests in the Xochipala project, encompassing the Celia Gene and Celia Generosa concessions totaling 193 hectares in Guerrero State, and the 100-hectare Salvador property in Guerrero State, targeting copper, molybdenum, gold, and silver deposits. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Oroco advances these assets through drilling programs, resource estimation, and economic assessments, including a 2024 Preliminary Economic Assessment for Santo Tomas that outlines a pre-tax NPV of US$2.3 billion, an IRR of 23.0%, and average annual copper production of 292 million pounds over the first five years of full operation. Recent developments include the July 2025 option agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the 2,974-hectare Vainilla Concession adjacent to Santo Tomas via cash payments, share issuances, and a 1.5% NSR royalty, expanding control over the porphyry copper district with targets in skarns, breccias, and veins; a May 2025 announcement of plans for river realignment at Santo Tomas to access additional resources, engagement of environmental law firm Pontones & Ledesma for permitting, and pursuit of uplisting to the Toronto Stock Exchange; and the closing of an initial tranche of a US$0.20 per unit private placement in November 2025 for gross proceeds of US$1.53 million, with participation from new director Faysal Rodriguez and Mexico-based strategic investors to fund project advancement and working capital.
