Business
Indofood Agri Resources Ltd operates as a vertically integrated agribusiness company focused on plantations and edible oils and fats. The company’s core products include crude palm oil production and refining; branded cooking oils marketed under the Bimoli, Bimoli Spesial, and Happy brands; margarine and shortening products under Amanda, Delima, Malinda, Palmia, and Simas brands; and derivatives of palm oil. Their plantation segment cultivates oil palm, rubber, sugar cane, cocoa, tea, and industrial timber. Indofood Agri Resources also engages in oil palm seed breeding, research and development, plantation maintenance, and offers related marketing, processing, and transportation services. The company operates primarily in Indonesia but extends its operations to Singapore, China, Nigeria, Timor Leste, Germany, the Philippines, and Myanmar. Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Singapore, the company owns and operates over 288,000 hectares of planted area. Recent significant changes include strategic acquisitions expanding their sugar business in Indonesia and Brazil, including a 60% stake in PT Laju Perdana Indah and an increased interest in Brazilian sugar and ethanol companies such as Companhia Mineira de Açúcar e Álcool Participações and Vale do Pontal Açucar e Alcool Ltda. Indofood Agri Resources launched an expansion of its crude palm oil refining capacity at the Tanjong Priok refinery from 1.7 million to 2.2 million tonnes annually, expected to complete by the second half of 2025. The company shows strong financial improvement with a 197% increase in return on capital employed since 2020 up to 7.6% in 2024 and a 13.4% rise in half-year net profit in 2025 amid higher commodity prices, supported by Indonesia's biodiesel mandate. Indofood Agri focuses on sustainability, vertical integration, export expansion into Asian and African markets, and capital efficiency to drive growth and operational resilience. The company targets customers across food, biofuels, and cosmetics sectors with its edible oils and fats products while also serving industrial plantation markets, leveraging its diversified portfolio including palm oil, rubber, sugar cane, and timber. Indofood Agri Resources continues to optimize operations and prioritize capital investments to enhance plantation productivity and profitability while aligning with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards to meet regulatory requirements and consumer expectations globally. The company remains a significant player in Southeast Asia’s agricultural sector with robust growth prospects from strategic business expansions and product innovations.
