Business
Reka Industrial Oyj (REKA.HE), a Finland-based industrial investment company formerly known as Neo Industrial Oyj, owns and develops companies focused on technical rubber products for the transportation equipment and mechanical engineering industries; its primary subsidiary, Reka Rubber (Reka Kumi Oy), manufactures high-quality rubber products divided into four main categories including moulded products, rubber-metal products, heavy profiles, and shaped hoses, serving OEM customers primarily in Northern Europe. Founded with roots tracing back to 1898 through the Rentto family's involvement in shoe manufacturing and formal rubber operations starting in 1955, the company is headquartered in Hyvinkää, Finland, with production facilities in Finland and Poland; it operates as a family-controlled entity under the majority ownership of Reka Ltd, employing around 285 people across its unlisted Nordic-focused portfolio. In recent developments, Reka Industrial completed the divestiture of its cable manufacturing subsidiary Reka Cables Ltd to Nexans SA in April 2023 for approximately EUR 46.63 million, enabling a strategic refocus on rubber operations; it also exited its associate stake in Nestor Cables Oy via a full acquisition by Clearfield Inc. in August 2022 for a net cash impact of EUR 2.4 million; and in 2025, Reka Rubber secured external bank financing, repaid intra-group loans, and ordered two new medium-sized injection moulding machines for delivery later in the year to support growth in moulded products.
