Business
Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) designs, manufactures and sells premium heavyweight motorcycles, including cruiser, touring, trike, adventure touring, standard and sportbike models such as Pan America, Sportster S, Nightster, Softail and LiveWire electric motorcycles; it offers parts, accessories and apparel for customization and lifestyle expression; provides financial services through Harley-Davidson Financial Services (HDFS), including retail and wholesale financing, insurance and loan origination; and licenses merchandise encompassing home decor, toys and scale models. The company, founded in 1903 and headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, operates manufacturing facilities in York, Pennsylvania; Menomonee Falls and Tomahawk, Wisconsin; Manaus, Brazil; and Rayong, Thailand, with sales through approximately 1,400 independent dealerships serving enthusiasts worldwide, primarily in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Latin America and other regions. Harley-Davidson pursues its Hardwire strategic plan through 2025, emphasizing leadership in core segments like Grand American Touring, large Cruiser and Trike; expansion in Adventure Touring via the RevMax platform; and growth in complementary businesses including Parts & Accessories, Apparel & Licensing and HDFS. Recent developments include the August 2025 announcement and milestone completion of a strategic partnership with KKR and PIMCO to transform HDFS into a capital-light model by selling residual interests in $2 billion of securitized consumer loan receivables for over $230 million in proceeds, eliminating related debt and enabling ongoing loan origination and servicing with new investor acquisitions targeted by October 2025; additionally, in November 2025, HDFS launched tender offers for $1.2 billion in outstanding notes due 2028 and announced full redemption of its 6.50% Medium-Term Notes due 2028.
