- Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited is an investment holding company that provides mobile and fixed communications services in Hong Kong and Macau under the “3” brand, focusing on 5G, 4G LTE, 3G and GSM mobile services, data-centric digital lifestyle solutions, and enterprise connectivity offerings. The company’s core products and services include consumer mobile communications (voice, SMS, MMS, IDD, international roaming); 4G and 5G data plans and prepaid SIM cards; 5G broadband and fixed wireless access (FWA) services for homes and businesses; digital lifestyle and value-added services such as roaming packages, music and video streaming, gaming, eBooks, mobile security, FinTech applications, telemedicine and dietitian consultation; and enterprise and corporate solutions covering mobile business services, information technology integration, smart city applications, Internet of Things (IoT), big data analytics, indoor high-speed internet access and 5G smart car park and venue solutions. It operates primarily in the mobile telecommunications segment, serving retail consumers, tourists, small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporates and public-sector clients across Hong Kong and Macau, and distributes its services through physical retail stores, online channels, and wholesale and partner arrangements.
In recent years the company enhances its network and service portfolio by expanding 5G coverage to virtually the entire Hong Kong population, investing across low-, mid- and high-band spectrum and beginning deployment of 5G-Advanced capabilities in high-traffic venues such as exhibition centers and major cultural and sports facilities. It accelerates monetization of 5G through the rollout of FWA-based 5G broadband for consumer and enterprise customers, customized enterprise solutions, and support for Hong Kong’s “mega event” economy, while integrating AI to optimize network performance, energy efficiency and customer experience. Financially, the group maintains stable margins through disciplined cost control despite declining hardware sales, with 2024 total revenue of about HK$4.9–5.0 billion and improving EBITDA and EBIT, supported in particular by strong growth in roaming revenue as international travel rebounds and by continued optimization of operating expenses.
Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited was incorporated in 2007 and is headquartered in Hong Kong, operating from Hutchison House on Harcourt Road, with approximately 1,100–1,200 employees. The company forms part of the telecommunications interests of CK Hutchison Holdings via CK Hutchison Group Telecom, which oversees broader regional telecom operations and reports HTHKH’s performance as a distinct operating unit. The group continues to pursue a strategy centered on enhancing 5G capacity, preparing for the 5G-Advanced era, expanding digital and enterprise services, and maintaining capital and cost discipline, while positioning itself as a leading integrated mobile and broadband communications provider in Hong Kong and Macau.
