Business
IBC Advanced Alloys Corp is a manufacturer and developer of advanced alloys specializing in copper alloys and high-performance beryllium aluminum castings. The company’s product portfolio includes a wide range of copper alloy forgings such as plates, blocks, rounds, discs, bars, rings, tubes, and rods; fabricated copper alloy shapes processed into semi-finished or machined-to-print products; and Thermal-MouldTM Super, a beryllium-free copper-nickel-silicon-chrome alloy used primarily for copper alloy molds applicable across oil and gas, aerospace, and other sectors. IBC also produces specialty copper alloy forgings for plastic mold tooling and resistance welding applications. It serves diverse industries including aerospace, defense, nuclear, automotive, oil and gas, and electronics from its base of operations in Franklin, Indiana. Founded in 1972, the company integrates forging, casting, machining, heat treatment, and finishing services to deliver comprehensive alloy manufacturing solutions. In the last 1-2 years, IBC Advanced Alloys has undergone significant operational and strategic changes. The company discontinued its Beryllium-Aluminum Alloy operations due to insufficient long-term market demand and closed the associated manufacturing plant as of mid-2024, consolidating focus on its Indiana-based Copper Alloys business. IBC launched commercial-scale production of 0.2% aluminum-scandium alloy components and started shaped cast component production capable of parts up to 500 pounds, targeting aerospace, automotive, electronics, and defense markets. It has also pursued development partnerships related to domestic scandium applications, leveraging collaborations with NioCorp on scandium oxide supply projects. Financially, despite facing sales declines due to reduced demand and non-recurring orders in 2024-2025, particularly in copper products influenced by trade policies, IBC improved operating losses and reduced net losses through cost controls and business realignment. The company’s strategic focus emphasizes growth in its core copper alloys division through expanding product capabilities and markets while maintaining a strong US manufacturing base. IBC Advanced Alloys operates primarily from its headquarters in Franklin, Indiana, with a strategic emphasis on serving global high-technology sectors requiring advanced alloy materials. The company’s broad geographic sales footprint includes the US market with prospective expansion in defense-related applications. IBC is publicly traded with its common shares listed under ticker IAALF on OTCQB and TSX-V: IB. This comprehensive manufacturing and engineering company maintains a diversified offering of specialty copper and beryllium aluminum materials, aligning innovation in alloy technology with evolving market demands and strategic operational restructuring aimed at sustained long-term growth.
