Business
PT Wintermar Offshore Marine Tbk is an Indonesia-based company engaged in offshore marine transportation services primarily supporting the oil and gas industry. Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Jakarta, it operates a diversified fleet that includes platform supply vessels, anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS), fast utility boats, offshore tug boats, accommodation vessels, crew boats, oil barges, landing crafts, oil tankers, and tug boats. The company provides vessel ownership, chartering, ship management, technical, crewing, and agency services primarily in Indonesia and extending to over 12 countries. Recent strategic developments include the acquisition of two 7,000BHP Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessels with DP1 and FiFi1 capabilities delivered in late 2022, a 49% stake investment in Brunei-based SAVWIN Sdn Bhd in early 2024 to expand offshore supply vessel operations, and significant fleet expansion investments totaling approximately USD 38.8 million in the first nine months of 2024, including the addition of an Accommodation Work Barge, a 2022-built Platform Supply Vessel, and three heavy load barges scheduled for delivery by year-end. The company has focused on repositioning its fleet towards higher-value vessels to capitalize on increasing charter rates driven by offshore deepwater oil and gas development, along with developing in-house digital applications to enhance operational capacity through technology. Wintermar fully repaid a USD 45 million loan to the International Finance Corporation in December 2022 ahead of schedule, strengthening its financial position for growth. This strategic pivot aims to meet rising demand in deepwater and ultra-deepwater markets and expand international presence, reflecting Wintermar's role as a leading offshore support vessel operator in the Indonesian and regional oil and gas sector.
