Business
NOV Inc. NOV Inc. is a leading global provider of equipment, technologies, and services for oil and gas drilling, production operations, oilfield services, and supply chain integration to the upstream energy sector; it also supports industrial, renewable energy, and energy transition applications including wind, hydrogen, geothermal, carbon capture, and lithium extraction. Headquartered in Houston, Texas, and founded in 1862 through predecessors, the company operates in more than 500 locations across six continents, serving drilling contractors, well-servicing companies, independent operators, and multinational energy firms with two main segments: Energy Equipment, encompassing rig systems, well construction tools, drilling motors, downhole technologies, composite pipe, fiberglass systems, and subsea production equipment; and Energy Products and Services, including intervention and stimulation pumps, coiled tubing, wireline tools, artificial lift systems, solids control, waste management, tubular inspection, pressure control devices, managed pressure drilling solutions, completion tools such as multistage fracturing systems and safety valves, digital solutions for automation and data analytics, and brands like Grant Prideco drill pipe, ReedHycalog bits, MISSION pumps, BRANDT shale shakers, Tuboscope casing services, GustoMSC offshore engineering, and Keystone Tower Systems wind tower manufacturing. NOV Inc. designs, manufactures, and supports these offerings with capabilities in onshore and offshore production, midstream flow assurance, lifting and handling cranes, service and repair, flowback, and saltwater disposal, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and sustainability through innovations like Bondstrand glass-reinforced epoxy piping for carbon capture platforms. Recent developments include the completion of its acquisition of the remaining stake in Keystone Tower Systems in the second quarter of 2024 to fully integrate proprietary spiral-welding technology for taller, cost-effective wind towers, securing orders such as 300 units for a major turbine manufacturer and enabling in-field production; a global collaboration with Soiltech announced in November 2024 on advanced drilling waste management; an order in 2024 for corrosion-resistant tubulars in a Malaysian carbon capture and sequestration project; and a planned leadership transition effective January 1, 2026, with President and COO Jose Bayardo succeeding Clay Williams as Chairman, President, and CEO to ensure strategic continuity amid growing international orders and backlog at its highest since 2015.
