Business
Isuzu Motors Limited manufactures and markets commercial vehicles, diesel engines, and related components worldwide, with a primary focus on trucks, buses, and industrial applications; its core products include light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks such as the N-Series/ELF, F-Series/FORWARD, and C&E Series/GIGA models; buses encompassing large fixed-route, mid-size, and sightseeing variants like ERGA and GALA series; pickup trucks and SUVs including the D-MAX and MU-X for overseas markets; and diesel engines for passenger vehicles, marine use, construction machinery, agricultural equipment, and power generators. Founded in 1916 and established in 1937, the company maintains headquarters in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, with key manufacturing facilities at Fujisawa and Tochigi plants in Japan, alongside assembly and production sites in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, and other regions across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas to serve commercial fleets, logistics operators, and industrial customers. In July 2025, Isuzu Motors and Volvo Group signed new strategic alliance agreements to jointly develop a common platform for medium- and heavy-duty trucks targeting Japan and Asian markets, building on their 2020 partnership with provisions for technology sharing, powertrain supply, and a minimum 20-year collaboration to enhance logistics solutions and customer support.
