- Copper 360 Limited is a South Africa-based mining and mineral processing company specializing in the exploration, extraction, processing, and commercialization of copper resources. The company operates across two principal business segments, Copper Cathodes and Copper Concentrates, utilizing both hydrometallurgical and flotation processing methods. Its comprehensive product and service offerings comprise: high-purity London Metal Exchange grade copper cathode produced through heap leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning (SX/EW) from historical surface oxide dumps; high-grade copper concentrate generated via crushing, milling, and froth flotation of mined sulphide ores for international smelting and refining; toll processing, beneficiation, and surface dump reclamation services; and exploration, drilling, and resource definition across brownfield and greenfield mining properties.
Headquartered in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, with central operational and processing facilities located in Nababeep in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa, Copper 360 holds mining rights covering more than 19,000 hectares across the historic O'okiep Copper District. The company serves global commodity traders, international metal refineries, and industrial end-users across base metals and manufacturing markets. The entity was incorporated in 2021 as Big Tree Copper Limited, reorganized through a reverse takeover with Shirley Hayes IPK (Pty) Ltd (SHiP Copper), rebranded as Copper 360 Limited in November 2022, and listed on the Alternative Exchange (AltX) of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in April 2023. Key operating subsidiaries and asset entities include SHiP Copper, Cape Copper Oxide Company, and Nama Copper Resources (Pty) Ltd.
In recent corporate and operational developments, Copper 360 completed the strategic acquisition of Nama Copper Resources (Pty) Ltd for R200 million, securing an established processing facility designated as Modular Flotation Plant 2 (MFP2) to operate alongside its internally constructed Modular Flotation Plant 1 (MFP1) and the Nababeep SX/EW plant. To support expanded commercialization, the company secured a 10-year copper concentrate offtake and prepayment agreement with Fujax UK Limited. Concurrently, the company reopened and ramped up underground mining operations at its flagship Rietberg copper mine, driving a significant increase in contained copper in concentrate production. To solidify its balance sheet and fund expanded mining infrastructure, Copper 360 completed a R400 million equity recapitalization and extinguished R715 million in legacy debt, while strategically shifting operational focus to prioritize large-scale copper concentrate production throughout the Northern Cape Copper Belt.
