Business
Atinum Investment Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based venture capital and private equity investment firm primarily engaged in venture investment partnership fund formation, asset management, and equity financing for growth-stage enterprises. Founded in 1988 under the name Hanmi Venture Capital Co., Ltd. and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company operates as the venture capital investment arm of Atinum Partners. The company provides a comprehensive suite of financial products, fund vehicles, and investment management services, which include: venture investment partnership fund creation and fund management for institutional and corporate limited partners; growth-stage equity financing and minority growth investments; early-stage venture capital and series-stage equity financing; convertible debt instruments and mezzanine capital structures; post-investment corporate value-up services, comprising corporate governance guidance, strategic business development, talent acquisition support, and global market expansion assistance; and exit execution services, encompassing initial public offering structuring, secondary transactions, and merger and acquisition advisory. Atinum Investment organizes its deployment across specialized technology and industrial sectors, including: Information and Communication Technology and software, spanning artificial intelligence, enterprise software-as-a-service, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital consumer platforms; Deep Tech and hardware innovation, comprising semiconductors, autonomous mobility systems, robotics, and advanced engineering technologies; and Biotechnology and Healthcare, encompassing novel drug therapeutics, medical diagnostics, biopharmaceuticals, and digital healthcare applications. Geographically, Atinum Investment concentrates its primary investment activities in South Korea while maintaining cross-border investment operations across North America, Japan, Singapore, and the broader Asia-Pacific region, serving institutional investors such as sovereign wealth entities, national pension services, commercial banks, and corporate venture groups, alongside entrepreneurial technology companies. In recent developments, Atinum Investment has expanded its assets under management to approximately KRW 1.9 trillion, driven by the closing and upscaling of its flagship mega-vehicle, the Atinum Growth Investment Partnership 2023, to KRW 860 billion under its signature concentrated one-fund strategy. Following rapid capital deployment exceeding 60 percent of this fund into high-growth artificial intelligence, robotics, and software enterprises, the firm initiated structural preparations for its successor mega-growth fund. The firm has delivered substantial capital distributions to limited partners, highlighted by the liquidation of the Atinum High-Growth Companies Fund, which distributed approximately KRW 1 trillion with a 6x multiple on invested capital, alongside profitable exit realizations from cornerstone holdings such as Dunamu. Operationally, the firm has continued to expand its specialized divisional management framework and lead cross-border funding rounds for advanced technology companies, including AB180, RideFlux, and XL8, reinforcing its global co-investment and syndication networks.
