Business
Hannet Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based financial automation and transaction services provider primarily engaged in the operation of Value-Added Network (VAN) financial infrastructure and automated self-service systems. Founded in 1997 through a corporate spin-off from the VAN business division of Korea Computer Inc. (which commenced operations in 1990) and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company operates as a publicly listed affiliate of Korea Computer Holdings Inc. on the KOSDAQ market under ticker 052600. The company organizes its business operations across three primary segments: Value-Added Network (VAN) Financial Services, Automated Kiosk Systems, and Security and Digital Media Solutions. In its VAN Financial Services division, Hannet installs, manages, and operates off-premises cash dispensers (CDs) and automated teller machines (ATMs); provides electronic payment gateway (PG) and interbank transaction relay services; and delivers cash withdrawal, account transfer, balance inquiry, and payment processing services through extensive terminal networks deployed across high-traffic public locations, including convenience store chains, subway and railway stations, bus terminals, highway service areas, and large retail outlets. In its Automated Kiosk Systems division, the company manufactures, sells, and maintains self-service ticketing kiosks, unmanned payment stations, and automated settlement terminals tailored for professional sports stadiums, performing arts centers, concert venues, movie theaters, and food service establishments. In its Security and Digital Media Solutions division, Hannet supplies digital video recorder (DVR) surveillance systems, printed circuit board (PCB) components, outdoor digital signage and electronic display boards, and commercial real estate leasing services. In recent developments, Hannet has strategically diversified its revenue base beyond traditional cash-dispensing operations by expanding its presence in the unmanned retail and hospitality automation sector through new self-ordering and smart payment kiosk deployments. To adapt to the ongoing consolidation of commercial bank branch networks, the company has expanded strategic outsourcing partnerships with South Korean commercial financial institutions to maintain off-site ATM service availability in public transport and retail hubs. Furthermore, Hannet has developed and deployed outdoor digital billboard and electronic signage systems to capture demand in the public information and advertising markets, supported by ongoing management reappointments and a consistent shareholder capital return program via regular cash dividend payouts.
