Business
KEYEAST Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based entertainment and media content company primarily engaged in television drama production, artist and talent management, and intellectual property (IP) commercialization. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company operates across three main business segments: Drama and Video Content Production, Artist Management, and Media Merchandising and Licensing. The company's core product and service offerings comprise: the planning, financing, filming, post-production, and distribution of scripted television mini-series, feature films, and digital streaming (OTT) productions, including titles such as When the Stars Gossip (Ask the Stars), Frankly Speaking, Queenmaker, Inspector Koo, Hyena, The School Nurse Files, and Voice 4; comprehensive talent management services, including talent scouting, artist development, career management, casting support, public relations, and commercial endorsement management for actors and entertainment artists; and intellectual property monetization services, including broadcast copyright licensing, domestic and international content syndication, original soundtrack (OST) production and distribution, celebrity-branded consumer merchandise, publication distribution, and ancillary media rights licensing. KEYEAST serves terrestrial broadcasters, cable television networks, multinational subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) streaming platforms, and corporate advertisers across South Korea, Japan, Greater China, North America, and international markets. In recent developments, KEYEAST underwent a significant ownership transition following SM Entertainment's divestiture of its controlling equity stake held via SM Studios to Iro Investment Association No. 1 as part of corporate restructuring initiatives. To enhance its in-house drama development capabilities and production scale, KEYEAST acquired drama production house Studio Flow and integrated creative production entity Oboi Project. The company has also established strategic co-production alliances with domestic and international media partners, including SLL and MYM Entertainment, to produce high-budget tentpole drama series and expand global OTT platform distribution channels.
