Business
Coweaver Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based telecommunications equipment manufacturer that specializes in the research, development, and supply of high-capacity optical transmission systems and quantum-secure network solutions. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the company primarily serves major tier-one telecommunication service providers, including KT Corporation, LG Uplus Corp., and SK Broadband, as well as government agencies, defense organizations, public utilities, and financial institutions. Coweaver operates through its core optical networking business and its wholly owned subsidiary, WeaverBridge Co., Ltd., which develops and manufactures wireless mobile communication terminals and specialized wireless devices. The company provides an extensive portfolio of optical transport and carrier-grade networking infrastructure, categorized into: Packet Optical Transport Network (POTN) platforms, including the flagship UTRANS-8000 series (UTRANS-8300, 8400, and 8500) engineered for multi-terabit core and metro backbone transmission; Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM, CWDM, and DWDM) systems for dynamic optical wavelength routing and bandwidth aggregation; Packet Transport Network (PTN) and Multiprotocol Label Switching-Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) equipment for packet-optical converged traffic delivery; Multi-Service Provisioning Platforms (MSPP) for legacy synchronous transmission; subscriber-premise and access transmission hardware, including integrated multiplexers (I-MUX) and leased-line terminal units; and centralized Network Management Systems (NMS) providing end-to-end network provisioning, fault diagnosis, and performance monitoring. In recent strategic developments, Coweaver has accelerated its expansion into commercial quantum cryptographic communications and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) transport security. The company attained official national security validation from South Korea's National Intelligence Service for its proprietary Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) hardware (model UTRANS-0810N) and its high-speed Quantum Communication Encryptor (QENC) lineup spanning 1G, 10G, and 100G throughput capacities. Through strategic alliances with domestic telecommunication operators such as LG Uplus, Coweaver has commercialized quantum-resistant leased-line networks and rolled out next-generation Q-ROADM and Q-PTN solutions integrating physical unclonable function (PUF) chips and hybrid PQC encryption. In addition, the company continues to deploy its scalable terabit-class POTN equipment across national backbone modernization initiatives, smart utility grids, and high-bandwidth interconnects for artificial intelligence and data center traffic.
