Mobile Appliance, Inc. is a South Korea-based automotive technology company that develops, manufactures, and supplies advanced electronic equipment, smart car solutions, and autonomous driving assistance systems. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, the company operates across the global automotive electronics sector, serving original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), port-installed option (PIO/DIO) networks, Tier-1 system integrators, and consumer aftermarket segments across South Korea, Europe, and North America, supported by international operations including an overseas branch in Germany. The company operates through specialized business divisions encompassing automotive safety electronics design, contract manufacturing, and consumer aftermarket distribution conducted in part through its subsidiary, Hyundai Pontus Co., Ltd. The company's product and service portfolio comprises advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including vision-based mono and stereo camera modules, lane departure warning systems (LDWS), forward collision warning systems (FCWS), pedestrian detection algorithms, traffic sign recognition, and driver monitoring systems (DMS); head-up display (HUD) units, consisting of combiner-type and windshield-projection optical displays integrated with vehicle controller area network (CAN) telemetry and navigation data; smart digital video recorders (car DVRs and automotive black boxes), featuring high-definition multichannel video capture, millimeter-wave radar motion sensors for low-power parking surveillance, and interior cabin monitoring cameras; location-based service (LBS) navigation devices and infotainment consoles, integrating embedded GPS hardware, high-resolution touchscreen interfaces, telematics firmware, and digital multimedia software; and connected vehicle Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including vehicle-to-load (V2L) power management systems, intelligent communication gateway modules, and embedded artificial intelligence vision processing platforms. Mobile Appliance distributes its solutions via original design manufacturing (ODM) and direct supplier agreements to premium global automakers, including the BMW Group, Mercedes-Benz Group, and Audi AG, as well as domestic partners such as Hyundai Mobis. In recent corporate developments, the company has expanded its high-end automotive safety offerings with next-generation radar-embedded black boxes and AI-driven vision processing systems tailored for electric and autonomous vehicle platforms. Additionally, the company entered a period of major ownership and governance restructuring following a controlling equity transfer agreement with Daekwang Co., Ltd. in early 2026, subsequent shareholding realignments returning founder Jae-Shin Lee to the primary shareholder position, and ongoing corporate reorganization initiatives aimed at streamlining operational management and reinforcing its core automotive electronics and driver assistance businesses.
