Business
Hanla IMS Co., Ltd. is a South Korea-based company that specializes in the development, manufacture, and servicing of integrated marine instrumentation, automated control systems, eco-friendly maritime equipment, and ship maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) solutions. Founded in 1989 as Hanla Level Co., Ltd. and headquartered in Busan, South Korea, the company supplies shipbuilders, shipowners, offshore operators, and industrial plant facilities worldwide. The company provides a comprehensive portfolio of maritime technologies and industrial solutions categorized across systematic product and service lines: level measurement instrumentation, including magnetic float level gauges, reflex and transparent level gauges, self-closing sounding gauges, ultrasonic transmitters, and electro-pneumatic level switches; vessel automation and monitoring systems, comprising integrated alarm, monitoring, and control systems (IAMCS), cargo tank monitoring systems (CTMS), bunker management systems, loading computers, and high/overfill alarm systems; fluid and flow control mechanisms, including hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and pneumatic valve remote control systems (VRCS) and remote-operated valve packages; maritime safety and environmental protection equipment, such as fixed gas sampling and detection systems, vapor emission control systems, water ingress detection systems, and oil discharge monitoring equipment (ODME); green maritime technologies, featuring EcoGuardian ballast water treatment systems (BWTS), alternative maritime power (AMP) shore connection systems, and nitrogen generator systems; and auxiliary marine apparatus, including specialized marine LED lighting and deck machinery. Beyond equipment manufacturing, Hanla IMS delivers comprehensive ship repair, conversion, hull and machinery reconditioning, dry-docking, and industrial facility leasing services. The company conducts primary manufacturing and engineering operations from its facilities in Busan and Gwangyang, South Korea, operates an overseas manufacturing and sales subsidiary in China, and maintains a global after-sales and technical service network spanning major shipping hubs across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. In recent major corporate developments, Hanla IMS has strategically expanded its ship repair and MRO operations by commissioning a 7,000-ton floating dock at its Gwangyang facility in late 2024, transitioning the site into a full-scale dock repair operation to capitalize on escalating global fleet maintenance demand. The company has also expanded its manufacturing scale for eco-friendly retrofits, notably ballast water management and alternative maritime power systems compliant with tightened International Maritime Organization environmental standards, leading to record corporate revenues in 2024 and selection as a Busan Anchor Enterprise in 2025 for its technological competitiveness in the maritime equipment sector.
