The company produces transformers including ultra-high voltage and extra-high voltage models; high-voltage gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), medium-voltage GIS, isolated pulse busducts, switches, reclosers, and cubicle-type GIS; transmission line and railway fittings; digital protection relays, intelligent earth leakage circuit breakers (ELCB), and digital electric power meters; power cables comprising conductors, screens, insulation, metal sheaths, outer sheaths, outdoor terminations, gas-immersed terminations, oil-immersed terminations, pre-moulded joints, fabricated joints, power and control cables, instrument cables, insulated wires, and overhead transmission lines; silicon controlled rectifiers (SCR) and aluminum rods; as well as energy storage systems (ESS) solutions including lithium-ion battery and redox flow battery systems, peak load reduction ESS, renewable energy-linked ESS, photovoltaic power plant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, smart grid products, eco-friendly GIS (dry air type), polymer load break switches, and polymer reclosers. Founded in 1968 and headquartered in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, Iljin Electric operates primarily in the power infrastructure sector, serving utilities, power plants, substations, renewable energy systems, and industrial customers domestically and internationally across Asia, Europe, the US, and South America; it functions as a subsidiary of ILJIN Holdings Co., Ltd.. In recent developments, the company entered an exclusive partnership with UK-based BRUSH Group in February 2025 to expand its medium- and high-voltage (36 kV) low-emission switchgear and high-capacity (above 100 MVA) transformers portfolio for global transmission and distribution demands; it established a UK branch in 2023, initially named ILJIN Electric UK before renaming in 2024, to support overseas manufacturing and sales of electrical apparatus; and continues to advance renewable energy initiatives including ESS and photovoltaic EPC amid the global shift to eco-friendly power infrastructure.
