Business
Adbiotech Co., Ltd. (KRX: 179530) is a South Korean biotechnology company that develops, manufactures, and commercializes antibody-based biological products, veterinary pharmaceuticals, animal nutrition solutions, and functional health ingredients. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea, the company utilizes proprietary egg yolk immunoglobulin (IgY) and single-domain camelid nanobody (VHH) technology platforms to provide targeted, antibiotic-alternative immune solutions across the livestock, aquaculture, companion animal, and human healthcare sectors. The company operates across three primary business segments: Animal Health and Nutrition, Human Health and Environment, and Biopharmaceutical Services. Its Animal Health and Nutrition segment provides an extensive portfolio of veterinary biologicals and feed additives; including Ig-Guard A, an oral IgY-based feed additive engineered to prevent acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease and white spot syndrome in shrimp; Ig-Drink Paste C, an immunoglobulin formulation administered to prevent neonatal diarrhea in calves; Nanocure, a nanobody-based therapeutic designed to control porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome; specialized antibody supplements for swine, poultry, salmon, and eel; and Korea Veterinary Good Manufacturing Practice (KVGMP)-certified animal pharmaceuticals, comprising antibiotics, anthelmintics, disinfectants, over-the-counter veterinary treatments, and metabolic stimulants. Its Human Health and Environment segment develops functional health food ingredients and natural therapeutic candidates targeting Helicobacter pylori infection, hypercholesterolemia, and inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis, while also manufacturing environmental microbial agents for organic waste decomposition. Its Biopharmaceutical Services segment offers comprehensive immune antibody discovery and development services; including antigen design consultation, high-affinity antibody screening, and preclinical validation support for biotechnology firms and academic research institutions. Adbiotech conducts research, development, and manufacturing operations in South Korea and distributes its products to commercial livestock producers, aquaculture farms, veterinary clinics, and distributors across domestic and international markets, including China, Japan, Vietnam, and broader Asia-Pacific territories. In recent strategic developments, Adbiotech has expanded its clinical-stage biopharmaceutical pipeline and companion animal portfolio. In April 2026, the company executed a collaborative development agreement with U.S.-based biopharmaceutical company Exicure, Inc. (Nasdaq: XCUR) to advance combination therapies utilizing the CXCR4 antagonist Burixafor (GPC-100) across oncology and hematology indications, including acute myeloid leukemia, solid tumors, and sickle cell disease, with Adbiotech responsible for in vivo studies and preclinical translational validation. In July 2026, Adbiotech expanded into companion animal healthcare by acquiring an approximate 12.28% equity stake in pet healthcare company Onheal for 10 billion South Korean won, becoming its second-largest shareholder to build an integrated One Health commercial ecosystem. Furthermore, the company signed a strategic business agreement with Lysod to pursue joint healthcare ventures, completed corporate restructuring initiatives to optimize operational governance, and received regional industry recognition for its advanced antibody discovery platforms.
