Business
Ubiquoss, Inc. is a South Korea-based telecommunications equipment manufacturer specializing in the development, production, and distribution of advanced wired and wireless networking solutions for telecommunications service providers, enterprise networks, and public institutions. Originally established in 2000 and restructured through a corporate spin-off from parent entity Ubiquoss Holdings Inc. in March 2017, the company is headquartered in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Ubiquoss primarily serves the South Korean telecommunications infrastructure market, acting as a primary hardware supplier to major national carriers, including KT and LG Uplus, as well as municipal and enterprise clients. The company's primary business operations encompass the design and manufacture of high-capacity network transmission and access hardware, systematically structured across several product lines: Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTx) and broadband access solutions, including Optical Line Terminals (OLT) such as the U9500 and U9700 series, Optical Network Units (ONU), Optical Network Terminals (ONT), 10G-EPON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, and GPON multi-service platforms; Ethernet switching systems, encompassing high-performance terabit-class core and backbone chassis switches such as the E8100 series, Layer 2 and Layer 3 workgroup and aggregation switches supporting 1G, 10G, 25G, 40G, and 100G interfaces, Power over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) switches, and dedicated edge security switches featuring the proprietary uStar security engine for denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation and traffic anomaly filtering; Mobile transport solutions, including Layer 2 and Layer 3 mobile backhaul and 5G fronthaul aggregation switches designed for cellular base station connectivity; and Network management software, including the proprietary uXOS operating system and centralized Element Management Systems (EMS) for remote network provisioning and monitoring. In recent strategic developments, Ubiquoss has focused on the advancement of ultra-high-capacity switching architectures and artificial intelligence-integrated network management. The company was selected under national research programs backed by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT to develop next-generation 14.4 Terabit-class (14.4T) network switches engineered to support the bandwidth demands of AI data centers and prospective 6G infrastructure. Furthermore, Ubiquoss has integrated machine learning and AI-driven diagnostic capabilities into its optical communications portfolio, commercializing automated fault diagnosis and self-recovery systems for optical line terminals. The company continues to execute ongoing supply framework agreements with tier-1 domestic telecom operators to expand 10-Gigabit internet access networks and enhance commercial 5G transmission infrastructure.
