Business
Mondelez International, Inc. (NASDAQ: MDLZ) manufactures and markets snack food and beverage products worldwide, holding the number one global position in biscuits including cookies and crackers, number two in chocolate, and rapid growth in baked snacks; its core portfolio encompasses iconic brands such as Oreo, Ritz, LU, Clif Bar, Tate's Bake Shop, belVita, Chips Ahoy!, Wheat Thins, Triscuit, Cadbury Dairy Milk, Milka, Toblerone, Sour Patch Kids, Trident gum, and Halls, alongside gum and candy, cheese and grocery items, and powdered beverages in select markets. The company, formed in 2012 through the demerger of Kraft Foods Inc.'s global snacking business with roots tracing to 1903 via Nabisco, maintains headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, following a 2020 relocation from Deerfield, and operates manufacturing, distribution, research and development facilities, and offices across more than 80 countries serving over 150 markets with approximately 91,000 employees and 2024 global net revenues of $36 billion. Recent developments include a September 2024 agreement to acquire a stake in irth, a leading Chinese cake and pastry manufacturer, to expand premium offerings; a strategic alliance with Lotus Bakeries for new chocolate products and Indian market entry; a December 2024 board approval for a $9 billion share repurchase program effective January 2025; and the November 2025 divestiture of its Toledo flour mill to Mennel Milling, alongside ongoing bolt-on acquisition pursuits in chocolate, biscuits, and baked snacks categories.
