- Holmen AB (publ) manufactures paperboard, printing paper, wood products and generates renewable energy from its Swedish forest holdings. The company operates through four main business areas: Forest, which manages 1.2 million hectares of productive forestland and supplies timber; Wood Products, producing construction timber, glulam and cross-laminated timber (CLT) from five sawmills including Braviken, Iggesund and the acquired Martinsons facility; Board and Paper, offering premium virgin fibre paperboard such as Invercote and Incada brands for packaging in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food and graphics, alongside book paper and magazine paper; and Renewable Energy, producing electricity from hydropower stations and onshore wind farms including the fully operational Blåbergsliden Wind Farm. Holmen serves quality-conscious customers worldwide, with approximately 90 per cent of sales in Europe, and maintains a circular business model emphasizing fossil-free, recyclable products from sustainably managed forests. Founded in 1609 and headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, the company listed its shares on Nasdaq Stockholm. In November 2025, Holmen secured a SEK 1.1 billion loan from the European Investment Bank to expand onshore wind power capacity in northern Sweden; the board also initiated a share buyback programme for up to one million Class B shares to optimise capital structure ahead of the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
