Matrix Service Company (Nasdaq: MTRX), founded in 1984 and headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, provides engineering, fabrication, construction, maintenance, and repair services primarily to the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, industrial, mining, and minerals markets in the United States, Canada, and internationally. The company operates through three segments: Storage and Terminal Solutions, which offers engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction for aboveground crude oil and refined product storage tanks and terminals; cryogenic, specialty tanks, and terminals for LNG, NGLs, hydrogen, ammonia, propane, butane, liquid nitrogen/liquid oxygen, and liquid petroleum; plant work, truck and rail loading/offloading facilities, marine structures, and storage tank maintenance and repair; Utility and Power Infrastructure, which delivers power delivery services, construction and maintenance for power generation facilities including natural gas-fired plants, utility-grade LNG peak shaving facilities, renewable power support, grid upgrades, enhanced connectivity, and battery storage; and Process and Industrial Facilities, which provides plant maintenance, turnarounds, and capital projects for refining and processing of crude oil, natural gas fractionating and marketing, hydrogen processing and production facilities, biofuels, fertilizer, sulfur, mining and minerals infrastructure, aerospace thermal vacuum test chambers, and other industrial processing. Matrix serves energy infrastructure, low-carbon solutions, power and utilities, and industrial clients, with approximately 90% of revenue from repeat customers across North America and select international locations. In fiscal 2024, the company reported a total backlog of $1.4 billion, up 31% year-over-year, with strong project awards and book-to-bill ratios reflecting robust demand; it issued fiscal 2025 revenue guidance anticipating significant improvement, entered fiscal 2026 with 85% of planned revenue booked, implemented organizational restructuring and decentralization to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, capture more projects, and reduce annual overhead by approximately $12 million in construction and SG&A expenses; and released its fiscal 2025 sustainability report highlighting safety, labor development, and climate change initiatives.
