- Sylvania Platinum Limited produces platinum group metals, including platinum, palladium and rhodium, through the retreatment of PGM-rich chrome tailings material at its Sylvania Dump Operations (SDO), which comprise six chrome beneficiation and PGM processing plants located on the Eastern and Western Limbs of South Africa's Bushveld Igneous Complex (BIC); the company also generates chromite concentrate and base metals as by-products, operates the Thaba Joint Venture (Thaba JV) for processing run-of-mine and historical chrome tailings to yield additional PGMs and chromite, and holds mining rights for PGM exploration projects including Volspruit, Aurora and Hacra on the Northern Limb of the BIC. The South Africa-based producer, founded in 2010 and headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, targets host mines and third-party sources for tailings feed, sells PGM concentrate under off-take agreements, and directs operations from its South African postal address in Florida Hills. In its fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, Sylvania achieved record annual production of 81,002 4E PGM ounces from the SDO, completed commissioning of the Thaba JV plant with ramp-up underway toward steady-state output of approximately 6,800 attributable 4E PGM ounces and 210,000 tons of chromite concentrate annually, invested $32.3 million in capital projects including tailing storage facilities, centralized PGM filtration and exploration, declared a final dividend of two pence per share for a full-year payout of 2.75 pence, and repurchased shares under its buyback program while maintaining a cash balance of $60.9 million.
