Business
FIH group plc FIH group plc is a UK-based AIM-listed international services group that owns and operates essential services businesses in the Falkland Islands and the United Kingdom through three principal subsidiaries: the Falkland Islands Company, Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company and Momart. The Falkland Islands Company, established by Royal Charter in 1852, provides a broad range of essential services including retailing of food, clothing, electrical goods, home furnishings, gifts and DIY products; property development and leasing for residential, office and industrial use; automotive sales and 4x4 vehicle hire; insurance services; tourism offerings such as flight bookings, airport transfers, luxury coach and walking tours; shipping and freight services; and agency services for cruise ships and fishing vessels. Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company operates passenger ferry services across Portsmouth Harbour utilising three vessels, while Momart delivers market-leading specialist international arts logistics encompassing transport, storage and installation of fine art and antiquities. FIH group plc, founded in 1851 and headquartered at Kenburgh Court, 133-137 South Street, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire CM23 3HX, United Kingdom, focuses on the Falkland Islands, southern England and London markets with approximately 382 employees serving local communities, tourists, businesses, defence contractors and high-net-worth art clients. In September 2025, the group completed a sale and leaseback of its 100,000 sq ft Momart warehousing facilities in Leyton to HEPP Mid Box Limited, a Hines subsidiary, for £22.65 million, yielding approximately £11.8 million net after mortgage repayment and proposing a special dividend of 70 pence per share; this transaction supports financing optimisation amid challenges in construction and retail at the Falkland Islands Company, addressed through new management appointments, alongside ongoing cost management at Momart and fare pricing adjustments at Portsmouth Harbour Ferry. Formerly Falkland Islands Holdings plc, the company rebranded to FIH group plc in September 2016 to reflect its diversified operations.
