Business
BTU Metals Corp. is a Vancouver-based junior mining exploration company focused on the identification, acquisition, exploration, development, and evaluation of mineral properties primarily for gold deposits in Canada. Founded in 2008 and headquartered at 1240-789 West Pender Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, the company operates exploration projects in the prolific Red Lake and Wawa gold districts of Ontario; its principal assets include the Dixie Halo Project in Red Lake, which is optioned to Kinross Gold under a 2023 exploration agreement adjacent to Kinross's Great Bear Project, the recently acquired Dixie East property located 4.5 kilometers east of Dixie Halo with royalties on adjacent lands and approval for initial reconnaissance exploration, the Echum Project adjacent to Alamos Gold's Island Gold Mine featuring gold occurrences and deformation zones, and the Hubcap and Centennial properties in the Wawa area incorporating the historic Centennial Gold Mine with opportunities for data reinterpretation and new targeting. BTU targets high-quality, road-accessible greenstone belt projects with no pending work requirements and minimal property obligations; it holds a debt-free position with a treasury of approximately $1.5 million following recent financings. In the past two years, BTU completed the acquisition of 100% interests in the Echum and Hubcap properties in May 2024 for cash and shares while assuming net smelter royalties, entered a 2023 option agreement with Kinross for Dixie Halo enabling Kinross-led exploration, acquired the Dixie East project with exploration permit approval in October 2025, closed an oversubscribed $885,000 flow-through private placement in November 2025 issuing 17.7 million shares at C$0.05 to fund Ontario programs, and earlier raised $600,000 in flow-through financing to support Dixie East and other assets, demonstrating strong market support for its portfolio expansion in underexplored gold districts.
