Business
CopperEx Resources Corporation is a Canadian mineral exploration and development company focused on the acquisition, evaluation, and exploration of mineral resource properties prospective for copper, gold, and associated base and precious metals in South America. The company's principal operations and asset portfolio include: the acquisition and exploration of copper-gold porphyry and skarn mineral tenements; the 100%-owned, royalty-free Kio Buggy project, comprising approximately 5,325 hectares within the Paleocene metallogenic belt in the Antofagasta Region of northern Chile; the 100%-owned, royalty-free La Rica copper-gold project, encompassing approximately 17,700 hectares across 23 mining concessions in the Andahuaylas-Yauri metallogenic belt in the Apurimac Department of Peru; target generation and mineral exploration activities comprising geological mapping, geochemical sampling, and geophysical surveying; and drill target delineation and exploration permitting. The company conducts exploration activities primarily in Chile and Peru, supported by corporate administration in Canada. CopperEx Resources Corporation was incorporated in 2021 and is headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In recent major corporate developments, the company completed a qualifying transaction with Gotham Resource Corp. in February 2024, resulting in its public listing on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker symbol CUEX. In late 2024, CopperEx strategically streamlined its portfolio by terminating its option agreement on the Exploradora Norte project to concentrate capital and technical resources on its flagship Kio Buggy and La Rica assets. In early 2025, the company secured a formalized community surface access agreement for the Kio Buggy property in Chile, granting access through June 2026 with extension provisions upon the start of drilling, and completed private placement equity financings to fund ongoing exploration programs. Additionally, the company restructured its executive leadership with the appointment of Mark Tommasi as Director and Interim Chief Executive Officer.
