Business
Graphite One Inc. (TSXV: GPH; OTCQX: GPHOF) is a Canada-based mineral exploration and development company focused on establishing a vertically integrated U.S. supply chain for advanced graphite materials, anchored by its Graphite Creek project on the Seward Peninsula in Alaska, approximately 60 kilometers north of Nome. The company plans to mine graphite mineralization at Graphite Creek, process it into 60,000 tonnes per year of 95% Cg graphite concentrate at an adjacent facility, and manufacture high-purity products at a proposed advanced materials plant in Warren, Ohio; these include 41,850 tonnes annually of battery-grade coated spherical graphite (CSG) for lithium-ion electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems, plus 13,500 tonnes of value-added graphite materials such as purified powders for industrial, tech, and specialty applications. Founded in 2006 and headquartered at 777 Hornby Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, Graphite One targets the surging North American demand for domestic graphite amid U.S. import reliance, with operations spanning Alaska for mining and Ohio for downstream manufacturing. In recent developments, the company secured non-binding Letters of Interest from the U.S. Export-Import Bank totaling up to $895 million, comprising $570 million in September 2025 for Graphite Creek mine advancement and $325 million in October 2024 for the Ohio facility, alongside acceptance of the project onto the Federal FAST-41 Permitting Dashboard. Graphite One closed a US$5 million strategic investment in October 2024 from Alaska Native corporations Doyon Limited and Aleut Corporation via a non-brokered private placement of 8.5 million units, following a similar investment from Bering Straits Native Corporation in 2023; proceeds support environmental studies and permitting at Graphite Creek. A March 2025 feasibility study outlines strong economics with a pre-tax NPV of US$6.4 billion (8% discount rate) and IRR of 30%, affirming a 23-year mine life producing from 44 million tonnes of mineralization at 7% Cg grade.
