Founded in 1891 and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, NL Industries operates as a subsidiary of Valhi, Inc. Recent developments include CompX reporting higher net sales in the first nine months of 2025 driven by increased Security Products demand from government and healthcare sectors and Marine Components growth from industrial and government clients including a one-time towboat OEM stocking order; Kronos integrating its 2024 acquisition of Louisiana Pigment Company, L.P. to realize synergies and innovations while facing TiO2 pricing declines and capacity utilization at 87% in the first half of 2025; NL announcing special dividends of 21 cents per share payable in August 2025 and quarterly dividends including 9 cents per share for Q3 and Q4 2025; and amending credit facilities with Kronos in early 2025 alongside settling an environmental lawsuit for $56.6 million.
