Business
The Waterbase Limited, incorporated in 1987 and headquartered in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh with a corporate office in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, operates as an integrated aquaculture company primarily engaged in shrimp feed manufacturing, shrimp processing and exports, and related farm care products; it produces high-quality shrimp feeds such as Bay White and Bay White Enriched for Vannamei shrimp, Tigerbay XL for Tiger shrimp and high-density Vannamei farming, and Magnum for Scampi, alongside Baylife range of antibiotic-free animal health care and farm care products using sustainable raw materials, and processes shrimp from captive farms into IQF, block frozen, and cooked forms for export to markets including the United States, Europe, Japan, China, Canada, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Middle East. The company's ISO 9001-certified feed mill has a capacity of 35,000-110,000 metric tons per annum, while its modernized processing plant, restarted in fiscal 2023 after a hiatus since 2007, holds a 5,000 metric ton capacity and is FDA-listed, EU-approved, HACCP-compliant, and certified under BAP, BRC, Halal, FSSAI, and other global standards. As a subsidiary of Aquavista Enterprises Private Limited and part of the Karam Chand Thapar Group, it serves domestic shrimp farmers through an expanded dealer network in Andhra Pradesh—its primary focus market—with new channel partners, incentives, and depots in Krishna, East Godavari, and West Godavari regions, alongside recent R&D-driven launches of two sustainable farmcare products and a strategic shift to scale processing exports (achieving 138 containers in fiscal 2024) while rebuilding the feed business for enhanced revenues and margins.
