In a major corporate development, NanoString was acquired by Bruker Corporation in early 2024 for approximately $392.6 million in cash plus liabilities. This acquisition included substantially all of NanoString’s assets and product lines—nCounter, GeoMx, CosMx, and AtoMx—and aims to integrate NanoString’s advanced spatial biology platforms with Bruker’s existing analytical instruments portfolio. The acquisition marked the conclusion of NanoString’s restructuring process and affirmed its market-leading position in spatial biology technology. Recent product innovations include the commercial launch of the CosMx Human 6K Discovery Panel, the industry’s first single-cell spatial panel capable of measuring over 6,000 RNA targets, representing almost all human biological pathways, thereby enhancing the resolution and scale of spatial transcriptomics research.
