Business
The Kingfish Company N.V. is a Netherlands-based aquaculture technology company engaged in the land-based production, processing, and commercialization of high-value marine finfish utilizing proprietary Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS). The company specializes in the sustainable farming of Yellowtail Kingfish (Seriola lalandi), marketed primarily under the Dutch Yellowtail brand name. Its product portfolio comprises fresh whole round fish; fresh gutted and headed fish; fresh skin-on and skin-off fillets; individually vacuum-packed frozen fillets; sashimi-grade loins and portions; raw sushi cuts; smoked fish products; and customized value-added frozen portions. The company distributes its antibiotic-free, ASC-certified, and BAP-certified seafood to premium foodservice distributors, wholesale fish merchants, Michelin-starred and upscale restaurants, and major grocery supermarket chains. In addition to grow-out operations, the company maintains fully integrated in-house broodstock management, hatchery, nursery, and biosecure water treatment systems powered by renewable energy. The Kingfish Company N.V. operates its primary commercial farm in Kats, Province of Zeeland, the Netherlands, and maintains sales and development operations across Europe and North America through operating subsidiaries including Kingfish Zeeland B.V. and Kingfish Maine, Inc. In recent developments, the company finalized the construction, commissioning, and biomass ramp-up of its Phase 2 expansion at the Kats facility, increasing annual design production capacity to 3,500 metric tons; completed debt refinancing facilities and equity capital raises with institutional and strategic aquaculture investors to fund operational scaling; executed key executive appointments including Vincent Erenst as Chief Executive Officer and Jean-Charles Valette as Chief Financial Officer; broadened European retail distribution through expanded listings with major supermarket banners; and secured the requisite state and local environmental permits for its planned land-based production facility in Jonesport, Maine, United States. Founded in 2015, The Kingfish Company N.V. is headquartered in Kats, the Netherlands.
