Business
New Zealand Energy Corp. engages in the acquisition, exploration, appraisal, development, production and sale of crude oil, natural gas and gas-storage assets in New Zealand. The Company’s principal activities comprise onshore oil and gas production; well workovers, recompletions, flow testing and production optimization; processing and marketing of crude oil, condensate and associated natural gas; and development of gas-storage infrastructure. Its asset portfolio is concentrated in the Taranaki Basin on New Zealand’s North Island and includes interests in the Waihapa-Ngaere producing fields and production station, the Copper Moki field, and the Tariki Gas Storage Project. New Zealand Energy holds a 50% interest in the Waihapa production station and in petroleum mining licences PML 38140 and PML 38141, which enable production from the Waihapa H1 well and processing and sale of associated oil and gas through nearby infrastructure. The Company also owns a 50% interest in the Tariki gas-storage project, which is intended to support gas production, storage and delivery opportunities in the domestic New Zealand market. Customers comprise domestic purchasers of petroleum liquids and natural gas, with sales enabled through its operated and non-operated production and processing infrastructure. Founded in 2010, New Zealand Energy Corp. is headquartered in New Plymouth, New Zealand, and is listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol NZ. Recent developments include the resumption of production at the Waihapa H1 well following a workover conducted with co-venturer L&M Energy Ltd. under an agreement with Monumental Energy Corp.; restart and flow-testing activities at the Tariki-1A and Tariki-5A wells; the return of the Copper Moki-1 well to production; continued workovers and optimization initiatives across its Taranaki assets; and efforts to pursue additional onshore Taranaki acreage. In 2026, the Company also completed delayed annual and interim financial filings, obtained reinstatement to trading following a cease-trade order, appointed a new director, and continued advancing the Tariki gas-storage business.
