Business
Silk Energy Ltd is a natural resource exploration and development company focused on acquiring, evaluating, and developing conventional crude oil, natural gas, and mineral asset portfolios. The company operates through its upstream oil and gas exploration division alongside its legacy mineral assets, delivering resource identification, geological evaluation, and energy project development. Its core operations and service offerings encompass oil and gas exploration services, including seismic survey interpretation, sub-surface structural analysis, and hydrocarbon prospect appraisal; upstream oil and gas concessions, centered on a 50 percent interest in the TOO KMG-Ustyurt Limited Liability Partnership, which holds the 6,451-square-kilometer Ustyurt exploration license located in the Mangystau region of western Kazakhstan near the Caspian Sea; natural gas and liquefied natural gas development initiatives, including feasibility studies and distribution plans for regional micro-LNG production and domestic supply; and legacy mineral exploration properties, comprising base metal and nickel-copper claims located in Ontario, Canada, such as the Cleaver, Langmuir, Desrosier, and SRO property portfolios. Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and originally incorporated in 1972, the company conducts its Central Asian operations through its wholly owned subsidiary Silk Energy AS and indirect holding vehicle UnionField Group. In recent company developments, the organization completed a strategic transformation and business expansion into Eurasian hydrocarbons through the reverse takeover of Norwegian entity Silk Energy AS, followed by a formal corporate name change from Inspiration Mining Corporation to Silk Energy Ltd. Recent operational and corporate events also include the restructuring of work programs under the Ustyurt exploration concession, legal proceedings and consultations regarding the status and mineral rights of its legacy SRO mining claims in Ontario, and ongoing regulatory proceedings related to cease trade orders issued by the Ontario Securities Commission and Alberta Securities Commission. Silk Energy Ltd caters to energy consumers, industrial entities, and commercial utility partners across North America and Central Asia.
