Business
PACCAR Inc (NYSE: PCAR) is a global technology company that designs, manufactures, and distributes premium light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial trucks under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates; advanced PACCAR MX-series diesel engines and powertrain components, including the TX-12 PRO automated transmission for vocational applications; aftermarket parts through PACCAR Parts and the TRP all-makes brand via a network of 20 distribution centers worldwide; and financial services encompassing retail financing, leasing, insurance, and full-service truck leasing under PACCAR Financial Services and PacLease, supporting a portfolio of over 237,000 trucks and trailers across 26 countries. Founded in 1905 and headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, PACCAR operates manufacturing facilities in the United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and other regions, serving principal markets in North America, Europe, South America, Australia, Asia, Africa, and over 100 countries worldwide through more than 2,200 independent dealer locations. In recent developments, PACCAR sold its PACCAR Winch division, which produced industrial winches under Braden, Carco, and Gearmatic brands, to Black Phoenix Group on November 1, 2024. The company formed Amplify Cell Technologies, a joint venture for battery cell production with a 30% stake and $2-3 billion investment, targeting operations in Mississippi by late 2027 to support electric truck powertrains; launched eight zero-emissions battery-electric models across Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF; and opened new parts distribution centers in Massbach, Germany, and Bogotá, Colombia, while expanding TRP stores to 353 locations in 45 countries. PACCAR also commenced construction of an MX engine remanufacturing facility in Columbus, Mississippi, set for 2026 opening, and reported record 2024 parts revenues of $6.67 billion with pre-tax profits of $1.71 billion amid ongoing investments exceeding $1.25 billion in capital projects and R&D for clean diesel, hydrogen, and connected vehicle technologies.
