Premier Foods plc manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of branded ambient food products in the United Kingdom and internationally. The company offers flavourings and seasonings under the Bisto, OXO, Paxo, and Saxa brands; cooking sauces and accompaniments under the Sharwood's, Loyd Grossman, Homepride, and Spice Tailor brands; quick meals, snacks, and soups under the Batchelors, Nissin, and Sharwood's brands; ambient desserts under the Ambrosia, Angel Delight, Bird's, and Plantastic brands; and sweet treats including cakes under the Mr Kipling and Cadbury brands, manufactured under licence from Mondelez International. It also operates a non-branded food manufacturing business producing cakes and desserts for UK retailers; FUEL10K provides breakfast products such as porridge pots and rice puddings; and Merchant Gourmet offers premium pulses, grains, microwaveable rice, and quick meals. Premier Foods plc, founded in 1975 and headquartered in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England, operates primarily through Grocery, International, and Sweet Treats segments, generating the majority of revenue from the UK while expanding in Australia, New Zealand, North America, and EMEA regions including new listings for brands like The Spice Tailor in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium. Recent developments include the August 2025 acquisition of Merchant Gourmet for £48 million to bolster premium healthy meals; a £36 million investment announced in November 2025 to more than double cooking sauce production capacity at its Worksop facility by 2029, bringing Loyd Grossman production in-house and extending the brand licence to 2034; a £19 million investment in the Ambrosia Lifton Creamery for porridge pot capacity; and new product launches such as OXO bone broth and stock innovations, Bisto and Paxo festive items, The Spice Tailor pad thai kits, and FUEL10K rice puddings.
